A downloadable game for Windows

Inspired by the book of Ecclesiastes and the old dungeons of the Legend of Zelda series, Hevel Isle aims to replicate and explore the feelings of tension and mystery that comes from exploring the unknown. In this treasure-hunting thriller, you will navigate maze-like temples, ruins, and the hostile wilderness, where traps and treasure lie around every corner. Can you escape the deadly world of Hevel Isle?

The game is currently in development, and feedback is always appreciated! If all goes well, then I expect the full game to be released sometime in 2023.

Update 07/08/2023:
- Adjusted some graphics and animations.
- Adjusted dungeon structure to prevent players from trying to defeat D’vourn too early.
- Made transition between rooms smoother.
- Adjusted volume of some of the louder sound effects, such as text crawl and trap sounds.
- Ralph is now required to press the torch switch on the same level as the tower.
- Prevented the torch block from exploding while Ralph’s cutscene plays.

Install instructions

  1. Click on the "Download' button to download the installer.
  2. Open the executable labeled "Hevel Isle Demo Installer."
  3. A window will appear with a license agreement. Read through the agreement and click "I Agree."
  4. Select the components you want to install, then click "Next."
  5. Select the folder where you want to install the game, then click "Next."
  6. Once the game has finished installing, click "Next" and then "Finish" to exit the installer.
  7. Go to the folder where you installed the game, then click on the executable labeled "Hevel Isle" to start it.

Note: This game was made using GameMaker for the Windows platform. Due to limitations of the engine, this game might not run on old versions of Windows, such as Windows 7. It is recommended to use Windows 11 when running the game.
